8th Anniversary, Merry Christmas + a Jodi News Update!

With over 10 million page views & well over 6 million visitors — yesterday, December 20th 2020, marked the official 8th anniversary of the launch of our Jodi Arias Is Innocent .com website.

So with Christmas just a few days away – I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the past 8 years – and thank you in advance for your continued support moving forwards through 2021 and beyond.

**********

So how did 2020 shake out for Jodi? In many ways, this year was a boom.

Here’s why…

The crooked creep who crucified her at trial, ex-“prosecutor” Juan Martinez, was fired from his job for treating his workplace like a virtual Tinder app. But all the single ladies – and some married ones – kept swiping left on his ugly mug. At just over five feet, Juan is a shot glass full of slime that the women in his office were forced to choke down for years. Unaware of his own extraordinary undesirability, his personnel file is peppered with complaints of his unwanted leering. Yet his male higher-ups protected him instead of the women in their employ.

All of that came to a grandiose halt last spring when he was finally canned. Then in July, he surrendered his law license. Sensing the above dirty shenanigans coming into full view at a trial, Juan decided to take the coward’s way out.

It begs the question: What horrors of behavior is he hiding? The world witnessed as this man-child wasted the court’s time by gnawing like a senescent pit bull on even pointless details during Jodi’s trial. What is so juicy in that musty closet of his that he would willingly surrender his license rather than fight for it in his favorite arena? Well, good riddance!

Thanks to many generous donors, Jodi was able to pay her legal bill associated with the above mess. She was informed of everyone who contributed and she wants you each to know how very grateful she is to you. She would not have been able to realize the above legal milestones without YOUR direct help.

Over the last five years, Jodi has worked diligently to pay the restitution she owed, stretching herself to pay down approximately $10,000. Then a few months ago, along came an angel donor who paid the remaining balance, rescuing Jodi from over a decade of further payments, and bestowing TA’s family with a fat, unexpected Christmas bonus.

Contact visitation was suspended in Arizona prisons last March due to the coronavirus pandemic. At a men’s prison in Yuma, Arizona, a huge outbreak was reported with over 400 cases, including the Warden, who was recently felled by the virus. While there have been a few inmates who have tested positive at Perryville, the women’s prison, they have all been on other units and no significant outbreak has occurred. Lumley Unit, where Jodi resides, has remained healthy and free of the virus.

Jodi spends a lot of her time reading and creating art. She is excited to begin the next book in her queue, Memoirs and Misinformation, by Jim Carrey (yes, that Jim Carrey!) of whom she is an adoring fan.

Her latest works, Partington Cove and Black-Ink Butterfly, can be viewed at ArtByJodiArias.com. Also, this final quarter of the year, she completed her first work of Impressionism in acrylic, titled The Clearing, but due to several delays, she was unable to get it on display before the year is to close. (Perhaps January!)

Another thing Jodi has been doing with her time is studying Italian, which she calls “deceptively easy” because of its similarity to the Spanish she speaks fluently. She breeezes through each lesson, immediately grasping the material, only to later discover that she didn’t retain much. Still, she is pressing ahead with lessons in what she calls “this gorgeous language.”

And finally…

What’s next in Jodi’s fight for justice? An all-important phase called PCR (Post-Conviction Relief), also known in Arizona as Rule 32. This is the phase in which her newly assigned counsel will raise issues that her previous appellate counsel could not.

This phase is funded by taxpayers, but afterward Jodi must shoulder all further legal costs. She was recently quoted $2 million — retainer only! — by a dream team lawyer. We are hopeful, however, that we will be able to find someone who will be willing to take her case for the mere fraction (about $100,000, or 1/20th) available in her appellate fund.

Please help her fight this fight by donating at Justice4Jodi.com. Together, we can help Jodi get within reach of great legal representation!

As always, and to finish off this update, here’s our all-time #1 favorite Jodi-Christmas classic — O Holy Night.”

Just like me, it never gets old.  Enjoy!

UPDATE: The JAA Appellate Fund total currently stands at $100,770.94 — so let’s be sure to keep the momentum rolling so the fund total can push on towards the ultimate target of $250,000. That in turn will help towards covering all the legal fees associated with appealing Jodi’s wrongful conviction.

All donations via Justice4Jodi.com go directly to the fund. It is also the ONLY website authorized to collect donations.

In addition, please DO NOT, under any circumstances, donate through any other website or Facebook page/group claiming to be “official” and/or acting with Jodi’s approval or authorization. The same applies to any “Jodi Membership Clubs”, groups or fake Trust funds that have been set up. These sites are bogus – they continue to steal money from Jodi’s future – and they should be actively avoided. If you are aware of any such sites, please help Jodi by clicking here and reporting them.

Remember… each day that passes takes us one day closer to Jodi’s release date.

we are team jodi - and we will be victorious

May the peace, beauty and Light of the season brighten your life with joy, blessings and abundance.

I wish you Happy Holidays a Merry Christmas – and a safe, peaceful, prosperous & snowflake-free 2021!

  1. Happy Anniversary to JAII!! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a super 2021! And a very special thanks to you, SJ, for all you do and for all that you’ve done over the past 8 years. I can imagine it wasn’t always easy. I know I speak for everyone here when I say your incredible work is greatly appreciated.
Thank you again for this amazing site. Onward!

  2. Happy 8th Anniversary to JAII!!!!! And many more to come until the new name of this site will be JAIF (Jodi Arias is Free)!

Without this site, we – Jodi’s friends and family – would never have had a safe haven to speak our mind without the haters attacking us. JAII has had many attacks by haters, especially when the trial was going on, but with a lot hard work behind the scenes, the hate almost never came through keeping us haters-free. Even to this day, we get hater comments that get deleted – after we have had our share of laughs and fun with their stupid remarks. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 100 times: at least be creative! Swearing and name-calling is so boring and passé.

For example, a freakazoid put 6.66$ in Jodi’s books. Now THAT was smart and funny! Jodi thanked this hater stranger and bought Halloween candy with that amount. So, yeah, if you wanna hate on Jodi, do it creatively. All you haters: Put 6.66$ each in her books! You will each get a personal thank you note from Jodi! 🙂 Or even better: put 666$ in her books! Just sayin!

    Getting off track here….

SJ, babez, thank you for having our backs! Thank you for having Jodi’s back. Thank you for being you! Thank you for making this safe haven for Jodi and us! You fuckin’ rock and I love you to pieces!

  3. Now, as for mr thumbtack Martinez… He thought he was ‘the man’ back then because some old lady asked him to sign her cane… (rolling my eyes)…

Having much knowledge in true crime, Jodi’s trial is by far the most biased, misconducted trial in the history of trials. Not only was the prosecutor so rabid in winning this trial at all costs (for his personal future political reasons), the defense first chair (the nosepicker) was against his own client to a point of it being criminal. Let’s not forget about the non-existent judge siding with ‘thumbtack Juan’ throughout the trial.

How this case of domestic violence & self defense turned out the way it did is beyond me. The jury was not sequestered, there was no change of venue, mormon mafia was ruling and everyone wanted a ‘cut’ of all the profits that would be made by the media frenzy. Of course this was bound to be a fiasco.. a three ring circus.

Thumbtack Juan Martinez got what he deserved. A disgrace of mankind. A predator, a sex maniac piece of shit, corrupted to the bone.

All I have to say to that shitface is : what goes around comes around. All the wrongdoings will eventually come and bit him on the ass. I hope I hear about all his future failures.

    ‘Nough said.

No, not ‘nough said! One more thing: Once Jodi is freed, I will personally send him a polaroid of Jodi and us on a Greek beach drinking our cocktails and flipping him the bird!

    Now ‘nough said!

    Peace out!

  4. Hey Pandora/Jeff,

Happy Holidays to you and the entire JAII family around the world! Also, SJ please stay safe in the UK… we don’t need Covid messing up our season! As I have said previously, I would imagine Jodi is quite proud of how her efforts have altered the AZ justice system.. hopefully for the better. I love the $6.66 hater donations Pandora… That is FUNNY!!! A little creativity does matter :))
Maybe they could move the decimal two times??? Since I am not on social media like many of you, I don’t see all that nonsense and have to rely on you guys for a recap later on. Obviously, the next step is to get Jodi back to her family so she can spend xmas with them. I am hopeful that somehow JAII can find/generate that one piece of “new” evidence that would prove to the AZ Appeals Court and the world that TA was NOT the guy that people knew in public.

  5. Last week I left a comment for Jodi in the comments section. I am hopeful that Kim was able to put the request for pardon on President Trump’s desk this week. We were told last week that President Trump would be granting pardons this week, so I hope we got out request in on time. My friend (who is a friend of Kris Jenner) says she only heard that her request for Kim to ask President Trump to pardon Jodi, was getting her attention, so hopefully it was on time.

Much joy and happiness this Christmas season to all!

    • Molly, this forum is the only available route to convey the following to you, reasons of timing & urgency dictate that I do so now: every day of the 4,547 days Jodi has been deprived of her liberty to date is one day too many and the spectre of more years of protracted future appeal procedures is not ideal – in absence of something discernible in the “credible” category, it is in Jodi’s best interest to maximize the potential of every pending approach to achieving the objective of legally restoring Jodi’s liberty as expeditiously as may be facilitated. The “how” is the job of the powers that listen, i.e. it is irrelevant who or what facilitates or contributes to the achievement of the objective. In this spirit, may I suggest you augment your efforts by passing on to your contacts that correspondence to President Trump dated 08JUN20 (snail mail)/01OCT20 (email)/16NOV20 (snail mail) presents compelling & actionable legal grounds for him to intervene in this situation in Jodi’s favor, i.e. that Jodi was unlawfully indicted, was subjected to an unfair trial & was wrongfully convicted. A selection of individuals who have been presented with more comprehensive versions thereof are every AZ Senator & AZ House Representative (except one), Ducey/Scarpinato, Cuccinelli and Adel/Vick. If the aforementioned correspondence to him has been “lost in transit” or has perhaps been intercepted by mail checkers, President Trump can reach out to any of these people to have said documentation forwarded to him virtually immediately – the most expedient option considering that there may be only days to spare. Depending on the comms dynamics your contact has established with President Trump, perhaps your contact can use this information to – if necessary – reassure President Trump that by restoring Jodi’s liberty he is not merely bestowing clemency, but that in legal fact he is also addressing a genuine miscarriage of justice; or perhaps your contact may wish to use adding my voice to hers as basis for a last-minute nudge & follow-up to her original request. I trust this information shall be swiftly passed to your contact so it may be drawn upon as your contact sees fit.

    • Please let Jodi know that I sung O Holy Night at my family X-Mas party because of her back in 2017 I believe!! I love that song & never heard of it until I heard her sing it!!

  6. It’s a lovely thought, Molly, but the President can only pardon federal crimes. Jodi’s conviction is of a state crime.

  7. Merry Christmas, Happy Anniversary and May We ALL have a Blessed New Year! Sorry to be late to the party but I’m hoping everyone is hanging in there and staying well. ONWARD we GO TO FREE JODI!!!!!! Thank You to SJ for giving us a safe haven to support our JODI!!! (((((TEAM JODI)))))

  8. Hey Frank,

Shawna Forde is indeed a death row inmate on Jodi’s unit. In the early days of Jodi’s prison time (2015-2016). Shawna was sending out her “updates” on Jodi which were a bunch of lies to make her feel important. People started tuning her out not long after. Regarding the Covid issue, I was worried that this new variant would find its way to get into her prison… likely through some staff member or guard with no leave left. This variant has already locked down the UK and parts of EP as you well know although I don’t know how France is doing. If I heard the national news correctly, the variant is in 26 states now including AZ!! The prison apparently is trying to “isolate” these inmates which seems nearly impossible in a prison and then spray the cells down somewhat like China was doing in the early days. AZ has been a hot spot for a while which is why I was amazed that Covid had not gotten in even with the visitor cutoff. How do you stop a staffer or guard who may be asymptomatic from coming in and spreading it? I am assuming Jodi has taken every precaution she can within her power and that the prison is really trying to minimize this outbreak. I would imagine you will see many more e-posts about this outbreak in the coming days/weeks.

  9. Thanks for the update and for all your wonderful support, SJ. I must add, however, that the fundraising situation is actually much better than that. Because of private pledges not yet donated, it’s quite possible Jodi will reach her $250k target in the next campaign. When it will start I don’t know, but all supporters should be getting ready to open their wallets this year for one last push to the goal. And I’m confident she can hire someone very good for $250k. Look at what Adams and Clark achieved for a lot less!

  10. I feel that the race of Jodi’s jury played a huge factor in her conviction. Jodi was convicted by an all white, death qualified, jury, but the original panel had 17 white jurors and 1 hispanic juror, Juror number 11. During the first trial 3 jurors became alternates and 3 jurors were dismissed off the panel. Juror 11 was a juror who was dismissed because of an illness. However, during the second trial the jurors that deliberated on the case had 11 white jurors and 1 hispanic woman, Juror 17. The jury hung 11 to 1 in favor of the death penalty, and the person who hanged the jury was the only non white juror. This leads me to believe that if juror 11 deliberated during the first trial he might of voted for a verdict that was not 1st degree murder. Race plays a factor in determining wether a murder case becomes a death penalty case. If Jodi was charged in a killing of an African American man, the state would not be seeking the death penalty and she would most likely be offered a plea of second degree murder or manslaughter. White jurors tend to be more sensitive in cases which involve a white victim. This makes sense why Juan Martinez tried to get a lot of other race people kicked out. If juror 11 deliberated in the first trial, maybe there could have been a hung jury and Jodi could have been retried by a more diverse jury.

  11. Hello T,

I agree with a lot of this. I will also say that I believe that the crime scene itself is what caused a lot of this outrage. The amount of blood that Travis lost from his wounds made this scene look bad even though we know that he was still attacking her after enduring many of the stab wounds to his back as Jodi was fighting him off. I have said many times that the gunshot would have ended this fight if Jodi had shot him with any other caliber weapon other than a .25 caliber gun. Jurors typically don’t deal well with bloody crime scenes because they are visceral. In addition, Travis’s family was dead set on execution and would not even contemplate any prison term. I would like to believe that a diverse jury would have analyzed this case differently as you say.

  12. I just wanted to let everyone know that there’s a new documentary about Jodi coming out soon on Discovery+ called ‘If I can’t have you’ I read the article and saw the trailer for it. At least in this one, they have Jen Wilmott and Jodi’s family in it so hopefully it won’t be totally 1 sided like the rest of them. You can stream it starting Friday February 12

  13. Hey JD,

I watched the trailer on Youtube. Jennifer Wilmott went even further than I would have thought. She states that if Jodi had been the one who died, she would have had a really hard time defending Travis. Apparently, Jodi didn’t let these feelings out until she was forced to at trail by JM. I would be willing to bet that Kirk Nurmi will try to chime in and counter this at some point. Here is the link for the EP/CA people for the trailer

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/discovery-takes-deep-dive-into-jodi-arias-story-with-if-i-cant-have-you-exclusive#:~:text=If%20I%20Can%27t%20Have%20You%3A%20The%20Jodi%20Arias%20Story,those%20connected%20to%20the%20case.

    • Hey Lance! Yes that’s the one I was referring to. I think I might actually watch this one. Hopefully it’s not one sided like the rest of them especially since Juan and Nurmi are now disbarred!

  14. Based on the trailer, I believe it will somewhat more centered although you can bet that the Hughes and others will be interviewed again and will pound the table for her guilt. We have all been waiting for Jennifer Wilmott to speak publicly about her experiences during trial. I would also hope that she would confirm how bad JM was during trial, especially during all of the sidebars. It does appear as if Jodi’s diary thoughts get a lot of attention as Wilmott refers to them in the trailer.

  15. I was contacted by Arrow Media and had many discussions with them about the case. I pointed them to the Reasonable Doubt site as well as supplied them with such things as Travis’s pedophile confession letter and various other material that they were unaware of. I also kept them up to date on Juan’s legal troubles and his disbarment. The person I spoke with seemed very reasonable and we set up a time for an interview. They even supplied me with a covid test as a precaution. However, the day before the scheduled interview, the woman I was communicating with called to say they had decided to bypass my interview. I was both relieved and disappointed. I know they had interviewed Jennifer and Maria that same week and I am hoping they got what they felt that needed from them and I couldn’t really add much except as a character witness. At any rate, regarding the title, I’m hoping it’s meant as a promotional draw and perhaps they’ll pull a switcheroo to show it was actually Travis who was the one who was obsessed. They promised to be as balanced as possible. Let’s hope so.

    • That would’ve been awesome Justus! They should’ve used you just to balance it out. We’ve already heard all the BS from Travis’ friends over and over again. Let’s hope they also talk about Nurmi getting disbarred. The article said that they talked to Jodi’s family and friends too! I’m definitely going to watch it. Hopefully it’s fair and balanced. We’ll see

  16. The fact that Arrow Media reached out at all is something. I was thinking about the not so publicized fact that Travis was absolutely blowing Jodi’s phone up on her trip to see Ryan to get her to come to Mesa because he couldn’t touch any of the Mormon girls. I have never thought that this fact got the attention it needed. You can’t claim she is a psycho while you are calling her to come by your house?????
Another issue would be the Yreka burglary. How credible would Angela sound when she tells the story of her and Jodi up at the Buddhist monastery on the Oregon border taking pictures while some asshole is robbing her grandparents home. This is on top of the fact that the Yreka police NEVER thought she did it.

  17. There is just one thing that confuses me of Jodi’s conviction. She was found guilty of 1st degree murder, 5 jurors found her guilty of premeditated murder and 7 jurors found her guilty of both premeditated murder and felony murder. I can understand the premeditation theory, but not the felony murder part. Does this mean that the 7 jurors were not sure on which theory, but knew it was either one or does it mean they believed both theories happened in the same crime. Does anyone know what this means?

      • If you would like to look at the final jury instructions, they are under the Court Documents menu tab at the top of this page. Jurors who voted to convict on murder 1 had to indicate which alternative they were voting for, or both.

  18. It means the State of Arizona manipulated the Jury. The family of Travis’ intimidated the Jury. The Judge was incompetent and did not explain the lies Juan had just told the Jury. The Judge did not take the time to fully comprehend what the Jury was asking nor answer in a truthful way. Judge Stevens, Bill Montgomery, Nancy Grace, and the Alexander family lied, destroyed evidence, created false narratives. They are also continuing to this day, just like yourselves, suppressing my voice and preventing me from being heard. Jodi Arias is innocent of Felony Murder and innocent of Premeditated Murder. Travis Alexander got what he deserved that day. He is no Saint. Look at all of the good I have done for others but am called a psycho for calling them out. Fuck you all and your God Damn dumb ass pathetic friends. No one gives a fuck about Justice For All.

  19. Hey T,

That is a really good question. I think we would need a smart legal mind to explain the difference in AZ law. The only theory I have is that Jodi had initially tried to plead to manslaughter while she was pro se when the reality of what had happened hit her. AS you remember, the family flat out denied that as they wanted to put her to death. The premeditated part, I believe, was all of the state’s coverup claims that Jodi committed during her road trip which also included the burglary which is where the state claims she obtained the weapon and the knife.. even though it had been proven later that both weapons were “weapons of opportunity” as both were ALREADY in the house. I have always believed that the felony murder part only came out of the fact that Travis lost a lot of blood in the fight which made the scene look really gruesome. In addition, myself and a few others here firmly believe that this fight was in 2 parts, not one continuous fight. The gunshot is the separating event between the two.

  20. Hey Everybody,

I found this advertisement in an email of mine from Discovery. Obviously, these people are going hard on the marketing and trying to get viewers. They are offering a 7 day free trial which would allow people to watch the Jodi biopic and not have to drop $6 a month.

    The ad is pasted below

  21. Hi,
I don’t know if the person running this website is in contact with Jodi but, i read her blog and she mentions there that she “is not a feminist”. Do you think her opinion has changed? I’m really interested to know what she thinks about this.
This story is on my mind a lot, I despise Juan he’s the most dishonest and arrogant man. I so badly want to know the truth and what really happened. As Jodi said, it is so important to document what you go through. I recently lost a friend that was killed by her ex boyfriend who abused her, she was killed in the most gruesome way, thankfully she had documented everything, sadly tho, the justice system in France is corrupt and he will only serve 20 years. I’m telling this story here because i feel like this website is a safe place.
I hope everyone has a great day or night, much love <3

    • Hi Laure,

The entire case is laid out on this website as SJ, the owner, has uploaded the entire trial as well as well as several US news mag shows that have done stories on Jodi. Another supporter, JustusForUsAll created a wiki page some time ago which is a fantastic cheat sheet of sorts for the main points of the case. Your friends case is one of the many tragic examples of how far abusive men can go. Many of us here are still amazed that Jodi survived that fight with Travis considering the size/strength difference. I am sure she can post it here for you to access.

    • For now, Her court-appointed Christopher Stavris, He will represent her on Post-Conviction Relief appealed .. if he manages to get her a hearing, it will be a big thing, maybe by then she may reach another lawyer, if he did not get her a hearing, then the taxpayers appellate will be ended for Jodi.. after that she can appeal on the federal court and will need to get private counsel.. so let’s pray Mr. Chris Stavris will get her a hearing and then we see what can happen.
