      God bless that juror for the question about the hemorrhaging!! Dr. G’s answer indicated one of two things

      1) Jodi shot him first
      2) Jodi did not do this at all, Travis was shot hours or a day or two after his death

I think I could be an expert on Dr. Drew. You just walk down the street in front of wherever HLN studios are and you knock on the door and say hey, I’m an expert and I like to yell over people who are talking. Then they’ll be like you like to interrupt people come on in!

    • If it’s that easy to manipulate the test results, we need to rethink the need for psychology as a science / treatment path. I understand the games that are played in a courtroom – my father was taking a deposition the day I was born – but to claim that 1) a defendant faked the test results that are not useful to you – yet 2) was somehow outsmarted by a test with results that might point to a diagnosis that would be useful to you – is (to me) such a transparent ploy that I wonder how Juan Martinez can look at himself in the bathroom mirror every morning.

I know we have the first amendment rights, thank goodness, but this type of vilification is beyond what should be allowed. It leads to violence and threats.

    • That’s just it – there’s limits to ALL freedoms. I’m tired of bullies and abusers hiding behind freedom of speech as if it makes their behavior okay. It doesn’t. There’s a real lack of motivation for those people to take responsibility and self regulate their behavior outside of the law coming in to limit the damage they are doing.

  26. Ugg I’m stuck on HLN w Nancy Grace. She said that JM was running over the Doc w a minivan and was making fun of the Doc for spilling his water. She’s so mean. She’s acting like this Doc is horrible when he’s awesome. You could put the Pope on the stand and Nancy Grace would say how terrible he was and that he had a crush on Jodi. I wish Nancy Grace would become an astronaut and fly to Mars or something.

My Mom watches the trial too so we’ll make fun of them and just say the weird things they say. When I’m stuck watching NG at night and she says goodnight friend I just have to say it – Nancy, I’m not your friend. I said it one night when she really made me mad. Now I say it every time I hear her say that because it makes me laugh.

  31. There should have been a medical doctor like Dr. Spitz to throw all of Dr. Horn’s testimony in the trash, but this guy did do significant damage. I just don’t get this court and how these witnesses are voir dired. And not throwing out juror questions that are not supported by the evidence or asking them of people who are not trained in that area or have the pertinent information available.

  33. It would have been much better for Horn to have been impeached by a well known forensic pathologist. I imagine there were some financial issues with that but even a local path would have been good.

    is a good sign….it’s been a long day,
    if they had not submitted anymore questions
    I would be worried, like they would be wanting to rush out
    of that crazy courtroom.

  100. First of all, the DSM has to go through approval by several different groups of therapists. It is a painstaking and long ordeal. Then, they go through the “editing” process and come out with the TR edition. LOL. This is because they find out what really doesn’t work. Wait til the DSM V comes out. Oh my gosh, many therapists don’t even want to use it. BTW, you probably tell something about my background. LOL. Suffice it to say, it would a lot easier to introduce a new edition of test than a completely new DSM.

I don’t know if I’m going to be able to listen to him rant, rave, and make things up to go with his theory for closing arguments tomorrow…I don’t know how Dr Geffner kept his cool today because he is so IRRITATING!!

    And I used to LOVE HLN but I feel their coverage of this trial has been totally prejudicial–which is really sad since they are attorneys!! I think they are TRYING to give the jury extra info because they are still seething about the Casey Anthony verdict. They can’t go one day without bringing up that trial in comparison to Jodi’s…..

    • I am confused as to whom the DA represents, the victims( the Alexander Family) or the people of
      Maricopa County. I don t understand why the family was allowed to participate in discussions in
      judge s chambers etc. It is the job of the district attorney to seek justice not to get a conviction at
      any cost.

      I am also very upset about the circus atmosphere that surrounded this trial.I think it has to taint any
      conviction. I hope there are appealable issues.

    The jury is asking fabulous questions…the best I’ve heard so far. There might not be many questions, but the ones that are coming are on target and lending to the defense to get gain some good ground. As much of a good job Jen W is doing, the jury (whoever is asking the questions tonight) is right on top of their game too. WOW.

    The question of the L scale on the MMPI is what I’ve been waiting to see come out. Well, I know it wasn’t a direct question exactly asking about the L scale, but Dr. G sure did get it out there. As many have discussed here, the MMPI is a widely used, highly recognized, extremely reputable tool for measuring personality characteristics (and gives a good glimpse into other facets of the psyche). The question by the jury to have Dr G discuss it was GREAT. Dr G actually explaining the scales was very good for the defense, and he did it better so far than any of the experts. Totally blew Tot Doc away and made it very clear and concise enough for the layman to get. It shows that Jodi was in fact honest. It’s hard to believe that it took so long to get that out.

    It seems like a small deal to some, but I know that the jury will catch that one and ruminate on that for at least a good bit. I know if I were a juror, I would anyway. The honesty issue has been such a big deal…now it’s up to the juror to find Dr. G credible, which I think they will. He did a great job, despite Juanita Napoleon’s display of ignorance. Dr. G spilled his water, then made a great comeback. He wasn’t letting Juanita take him down. Woo hoo. I also loved how he kept pointing out what everyone, including God has to see….his two way trickery questions. I know the jury sees that trickery also. Things are looking up, folks. Not that things have been bad anyway, imo. Juanita looked like a bigger douchebag than usual tonight.

    Also, Dr. G did a great job discussing the frontal lobe and parietal lobes and how Travis was most likely not incapacitated by the gunshot.

    I know I am way behind…HLN is what I’m sadly watching…it’s driving me batty. I hope the aforementioned sticks and Juanita Napoleon doesn’t whip up another confusion twister (or at least try–since the jury is seemingly paying very close attention). I know I am rambling….just been waiting for that for days. I was actually getting greatly disappointed because I knew that would help. Whew…every little bit counts when an innocent woman’s life is on the line.

    • Thanks cj. I was going to post something similar to this as I am a chronic pain patient as well, and I know several other CPPs, none with a BPD diagnosis. Also, I’ve never heard of any connection between being a CPP and having BPD.

    • I have been diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis( CFS) and Fibromyalgia. The pain has been chronic for 7 years, I was 32 when it started. The pain is very real, yet I look normal. This lady is a nut.

      • I also have osteoarthritis in hips and DDD in spine with a fused vertebral block from T10-12 ( congenital)

While it is not the job of the defense to prove anything, this very experienced doctor actually explained how the gunshot’s bullet trajectory through Travis’s head did not stop him in anyway from continuing his attack, thus forcing Jodi to defend herself further from this fiend. I hope everyone was listening in the jury box. The medical examiner’s report didn’t even detail crucial brain details which Ms. Willmott adequately caught on cross. Did he leave out crucial details on purpose? This was a banner day for the defense. Jodi might actually be found not guilty, or the jury might be hung.

        • On the supposed dragging photo I don’t believe that TA’s right foot would have such a big gap between the big toe and the second toe. I feel like that photo is taken parallel to the tub with TAs head near the toilet entrance and he was shot midway thru the struggle. I think by wrestling knowledge he was potentially choking 2attackers, one with his left arm and another with both legs. The body had major damage and would send blood to coagulate to the bigger of the wounds and since the head shot wasn’t as vital as the superior venal cava, the head shot didn’t or wouldn’t hemorrhage. They are tunnel visioned on the shot being first or last, but what about midway, ballistics is not a definite science.

        • It should be obvious to everyone that Horn is a liar and a corrupt puppet for JM and the state. Geffner was believable in explaning the bullet trajectory even though this isn’t his area of expertise. I just wish the defense had delved more into comparing the forensic evidence with another opinion to so there would be less doubt that Jodi acted in self-defense. Another ME would have kept Horn in check.

  501. i think as far as the judge is concerned is that juan doesn’t have shit other then she had gas cans, she turned her license plate upside down, and someone broke into jodi’s gramma’s house and stole a gun that’s the same as she supposedly “used”. NONE of these prove guilty without a shadow of doubt. Yes put those factors in and think nothing but that, but ultimately it all means the same. Its not enough. The only thing that circumstantial evidence proves is that Jodi’s defense “may” have discrepancies

They treat this death penalty case like they are sports casters at a ballgame. They will say and do anything to get people to watch. These jurors are only human, and curious to see this on tv, so of course they are watching and online, probably posting too. I was shocked when the jury wasn’t sequestered. We can only hope a couple of jurors haven’t been tainted by the media.

  518. Back to the ME, please. If this has been asked addressed, I apologize, but wouldn’t there be a taped record of the ME describing each wound as he was actually doing the autopsy? I would think if there was and if he was recorded saying the dura mater was perforated that it would be on tape before being transferred to written report. Also, since the prosecutors did not offer that taped or digital recording, then I would have to believe he knows it is not on the recording.

    • I don’t know if they are requited to tape them or not, if so I’m sure that tape would be re-taped for the prosecution as the ME is totally pro-prosecution.

    • When I worked for pathologists in a hospital in Canada, the gross autopsy description was recorded in the morgue on microtapes. Once microscopic slides were prepared, they would tape that at the microscope at a later date. When the report was completed, reviewed for accuracy and signed, the tapes were eventally reused. Typo seems impossible.

I shouldn’t have expected so much from someone who would agree to testify on behalf of the State, which directly helps the case for Jodi to be executed. Honestly, if I were an expert witness I would want to know about the case and the facts of the case that I am testifying in so I would be sure I was in no way supporting a BULLSHIT case like JM’s case.

        • I have watched several trials. OJ’s was my first. In OJ’s the investigation of the crime really screwed thing up. I don’t think the jury had much trust in the evidence. DNA was in it’s infancy. The nice part about it, HLN didn’t exist so you could watch it without listening to a bunch of talking heads. This one will be the one I’ll most remember.

  533. New to this site. After spending the last hour reading different theories of what happened, I wanted to ask people a question I wouldn’t get death threats for asking. So here I am!

    I have read that Travis knew Jodi was going on a road trip to Utah and he convinced her to visit him along the way. It has also been said he was very jealous and did not want her to date anyone else and I think Jodi said he found emails between her and Ryan burns.

    My question is has the theory ever came up by the defense that Travis convinced Jodi to come see him so he could kill her? He may have known she was going to see Ryan. His plan backfired when Jodi defended herself and ultimately won the fight. He could have waited all those hours to have sex with her multiple times and then do it.

    Idk if that’s a logical theory or not. I have believed Jodi is innocent since the day I learned of what happened. Best of luck to her on verdict day!!
