The events following the body bag picture post yesterday were interesting to say the least. In addition to attracting a load more new visitors & posters, we also managed to oust a few people that maybe weren’t that pro-Jodi after all, and were only here for the free coffee & biscuits. Well, good riddance to those fair-weather fucks. We’re here on a mission, and we have no room for fence-sitting passengers or assholes. Thanks for all your supportive messages which I couldn’t reply to individually. TEAM JODI FOREVER!

Today’s first ever TGIF trial day is scheduled to run from 9.30 am to noon/1 pm, depending on which way the wind is blowing :mrgreen:

After nearly dying of boredom – thanks to Martinez’ nauseating antics, ongoing rants & BS – I decided to let Renee’ give you a brief summary of events from yesterday.

Here goes…

* We learned that spaghetti sticks on ceilings, as well as walls.

* We learned that JM is interested in Jodi’s asshole.

* We learned that if you are louder than opposing counsel, the Judge Pickles Bobble-head will overrule every objection.

Ain’t that the truth :mrgreen:

“Xtreme Judging” at its finest

I have links to videos emailed to me all the time… including the odd porno clip, which I sometimes have to review multiple times prior to rejecting it. But sometimes I receive videos that align perfectly with the current trial circus we’ve all come to know & love over the past 4 months.

So in an attempt to break the monotony of Martinez’ current inability to even find his own ass with both hands… and while Judge Pickles continues to help him find it… check out the videos below to see how a couple of other judges effortlessly handle BS, gestures from the gallery, facial expressions and arrogant courtroom assholes…

Video #1 – Direct Criminal Contempt (& Jail) in 12 Minutes Flat:

This is from Casey’s trial back in June 2011. It features a dude by the name of Matthew Bartlett, who (from the spectator gallery) briefly flipped the bird at Jeff “The Laughing Guy” Ashton during the trial. Very soon after the event, Bartlett was hauled before Judge Belvin Perry, who promptly advised him that gestures & facial expressions during court proceedings are strictly prohibited.

He then promptly ripped him a new one… sentenced him to 6 days in jail… imposed a $400 fine (plus court costs)… helped him arrange flexible payment terms for the fine… and advised him of the prevailing appeal process… prior to having him handcuffed & having his ass carted away to Orange County jail — and all within the space of 12 minutes.

Being immune to such restrictions himself, Belvin Perry’s facial expression at the 7.40 mark is truly priceless.

I guess Elvis (and the rest of the eye rolling Addams family) should be glad they’re not in Florida, or they’d be doing more jail time than actual trial watching.

Video #2 – Don’t Mess with Marilyn Milian:

In this clip from The People’s Court program (2007), this is a shining example of what happens when you start acting like an arrogant asshole in the courtroom. It features former Florida state circuit court judge Marilyn Milian… and just like Belvin Perry, she ain’t taking any bullshit either. It’d be interesting to see what would happen if she replaced Judge Pickles :mrgreen:

Mistrials & Witch Trials – the State circus rolls on

Last Sunday (4/7), the Defense filed yet another Motion for Mistrial.

(Inability To  Provide Effective Assistance of Counsel due to Prosecutorial Misconduct)

In addition to referencing “the circus like atmosphere inside the courtroom” and the likeness to the Salem Witch Trials… the Motion cites specific acts of  prosecutorial misconduct, including:

* Counsel for the State yelling at witnesses, attacking witnesses on a personal level and throwing evidence.

* The State releasing evidence to the media.

* Evidence tampering.

* Martinez showboating on the courthouse steps.

* The berating of defense witnesses via e-mail, telephone and in various internet forums.

The Motion also includes these direct statements:

…This State of affairs has placed counsel for Ms. Arias in a position that they cannot fulfill the duties they owe Ms. Arias, pursuant Arizona Rules of Criminal Procedure, Rule 6.8.

…In further efforts to prove his case in the court of public opinion rather than a court of law on April 4, 2013, the State unapologetically admitted that it had released a plethora of damming evidence that would not otherwise come into trial to the media.

…Counsel for Ms. Arias cannot meet the dictates of these guidelines when defense experts are being harassed inside the courtroom by the prosecutor and outside the courtroom by those who chose to mimic his  behavior in other public forums.

…Based on the facts and law cited above it is beyond legitimate dispute that the conduct of the Prosecutor has placed counsel for Ms. Arias in a position where she cannot present a complete defense and where she cannot receive effective assistance of counsel during the trial and any potential sentencing phases. Thus, the trial at issue does not comport with the dictates of the 5th, 6th and 14th Amendments to the United States Constitution and Art. 2, §§ 4, 15, 23, and 24 of the Arizona Constitution meaning that at this point in time that the only constitutional course is to declare a mistrial.
