Jodi Arias Retrial, Day #47 – Final Closings (2/25)

Welcome to Day #47… and to what will most likely be the last regular day of this irregular judicial farce.

Yesterday, Kirk Nurmi did an exceptional job with his closing arguments — irrespective of how some tweeters tried to spin it — and this morning he’ll have the last say… and the opportunity to debunk all the lies from Kermit’s Apollo-11 riddled & badly-scripted BS closing attempt yesterday.

I think the last time the courtroom was filled with so many lies (within such a short space of time) was when Chris Hughes testified… but we can once again trust The Nurminator to obliterate Kermit’s spacecraft — and enlighten the jurors accordingly.

After all that, and the final jury instructions from Pickles, we shouldn’t have too long to wait until the hung jury come back with their split decision. Then, just like I said yesterday, Pickles can toss a coin to see what “verdict” to come up with to try and keep everyone happy — which could be any time between this afternoon & Friday afternoon.

The verdict… whenever it arrives… is basically a decision on who’s gonna end up paying for Jodi’s appeals, so Jodi can finally get justice – and this whole BS fiasco can be straightened out once and for all.

By the way — what’s with The Addams Family randomly running in & out of the courtroom yesterday? There’s obviously no apparent cure for their cumulative inbreeding, meth addiction & retardation — and little exercise never did anyone any harm — but running around like tits in a trance is still plain ridiculous. I can sum them up in one word: Motherfuckers… and in their case, it’s meant literally.

Kirk Nurmi may well start the day with a motion for mistrial based on their antics, which will of course be denied, but it’ll be yet another serious event to add to the ever-growing list of judicial infractions that’ll be highlighted during Jodi upcoming appeals.

Yes… they may well “lose”… and it may be a “disappointing verdict” for him and his countless pedo-hugging media colleagues… but JUSTICE FOR JODI will prevail – which in and of itself is priceless.

So with all that said & done… and with the longest, biggest & most comprehensive judicial fuck-up in AZ’s history close to an end… today’s kick-off is currently scheduled for 9.30 am MST.

  3. SJ another great lead in for today!!! I personal think that JM was sitting on the toilet yesterday morning where he wrote his closeing on TP. Loops the roll was empty and he had to use the TP he wrote his closeing on to wipe his sorry ass.

    I agree it will be another hung jury!!!
    So the MF Alexander’s can pack their bags
    and be off on another vacation paid for by the dime of the simpletons that donated to them.

    ((((Jodi will walk free)))) and they will be lefted with explaining to their children, who will read about this trial, who their Uncle Travis really was!!! Well I guess his legacy fits right into the family history…..you came to seek justice for Travis and you got just what he deserved in the way of justices!!!

  5. I have one thing to say to Malware and I hope he can hear me. If Jodi is such a liar as you say she is, then she could not have possibly killed TA because she admitted to doing so, If everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie and she is so manipulative that would also have to be a lie!!!

  6. Was just reading that Taya Kyle also walked out of the courtroom during defense closing arguments in the Ray Routh trial yesterday.

    Don’t know what time it happened, though, or if someone following the Routh trial might have passed the idea along to the Alexanders during lunch recess.

        Thinking Stephen might have been following that trial, getting updates on his phone maybe? As a vet with his own PTSD and drug issues, trial might have been of interest to him.

        Not sure when Taya walked out, but regardless, at mid-day they’d have had no way of knowing that she never came back to the courtroom.

        • Journee, In one of my comments yesterday, following the brother walking out I said it wouldn’t surprise me if they all got up and walked out…hope it wasn’t anything I wrote that gave them the big idea to walk out in unison. BUT if heir foolish, disrespectful behavior causes a mistrial ….I will gladly take the credit 😉

    • I had HLN on, only to see if they mentioned anything about Jodi’s case. . . since they are the ones we can all thank for the Media Mob Frenzy they created with lies and nothing else. I’m thinking it happened before the Alexanders made their performance. I did hear the Judge explaining very carefully to not do anything cry, expressions of any kind. Then the Alexanders started with their “shot from the cannon” performance and I lost it. JSS is something else, isn’t she? Wonder why she even bothers to come to work? What a Spineless Slacker! She has proved to be worthless at her job but I bet she profiting in a big way. Someone must be paying her out the whaaazoooo for her performance, or lack of. Hope she finds it is all worth it at the end of her life. Soap and water won’t clean up the mess she has made.

      • I think their little performance did not send the mgs. they were hoping for to the jury. I think that their timing might have backfired. IMO it was a slap in the jury’s face as well as the courts. Very, very disrespectful!!!!

      • It will not matter what JSS says the family does NOT care as evidenced by their egregious behavior yesterday……they should not be allowed back into the courtroom, held in contempt, and a mistrial declared….Jodi’s constitutional rights to a fair trial have been violated and some may poohoo this as just minor, but the entire jury witnessed this act and this will have an impact on their thinking one way or another….the entire courtroom witnesses this protest you would have had to be blind not to……..

  12. I wonder if there will be quick deliberations. I can not fathom ANYONE in their right mind being able to choose either life imprisonment or DP. If I were a juror I would have to say, “WTF was that other jury thinking when they found her guilty? They were either mislead, weren’t listening, or they were a bunch of nut cakes”. After hearing what was presented this time around I have to believe that for ANYONE on this particular jury to even entertain the idea that the previous jury was off the mark, they too are incompetent. Some pro-TA idiot without any morals will most likely be trying to convince others to ignore what what was revealed during this phase. The jury was told to ACCEPT the guilty verdict from the previous jury! How is this even legal? This is such a farce and the epitome of injustice.

    • Typo…for ANYONE on this particular jury to entertain the idea that the previous jury was ON the mark…(vs. OFF the mark)

        • Dorothy, just because they are told they have to “accept” the criminal trial verdict, the court can not control people’s minds or thoughts…so people have their own free will within their own thoughts to decide the credibility of the criminal trial verdict….and if they feel that the verdict was wrong or that the first jury missed it and didn’t get it quite right, they can in their own mind take that into their accounting when deciding whether to kill Jodi or not…..so we should have some hope that at least some of these jurors will use their independent thinking to make a correct decision here…….life 🙂

      • I understand that cindy, but SO much more info has been revealed during THIS trial that, imo, would nullify that first jury’s decision. If I were a juror on THIS jury I would be confused as to HOW and WHY the previous jury came to that guilty verdict in the first place…just saying it would confuse me…AT LEAST ONE juror must be thinking the same as I.

    • If I (with eyewitness, firsthand knowledge of prosecutorial perjury and malice), were allowed on a jury, I would categorically reject the prosecutor’s desire for the death penalty due to its demand that I consider the previous juriy’s decision as proof of Jodi’s guilt (that she’s guilty beyond a reasonable doubt). I have my own standards and it wont excuse me if I can blame my incorrect and irreversible decision on the incorrect decision of someone earlier in the “chain of custody” (i.e. the previous court proceedings).
      I don’t have to live with the prosecutor, Arizona Statutes, jury instructions, Alexanders, Travis’s ghost (for the “What would Travis want’s among you/us?”). I have to live with myself.

  13. SJ thank you for the awesome post! Yesterday was a treat for us: probably because the circus is leaving town, they needed to make a grand closing performance:

    We had the ballet dancers exiting the room, then the Elvis impersonator leaving the room, then the ‘cry me a river’ chickie exiting the room.

    We got a great performance about outer space – it felt just like Space Camp. I felt bad that I didn’t have my tin foil cap close by. Damnit!

    Hopefully today martinez will MOONWALK out of the courtroom, for impression sakes! A girl can only wish! (crossing fingers!)

  16. I was there yesterday. At one point, Judge Stephens addressed the audience, admonishing all of us not to “react” to anything said during closing, including facial reactions (you know, like when Samantha rolls her eyes or Skeletor glares hatefully). Judge Stephens warned us that anyone violating her admonishment would be subject to ejectment from the courtroom. The Court went back on the record. Nurmi told the jury Jodi was remorseful. He quoted from (convicted FELON) Tanisha’s address to the last jury – “I wand to hear Travis’s voice again” or something like that – (not, “I want to watch her die” though) and said Jodi wished the same thing. At that point, the T-Dog crew got up and walked out of the courtroom, en masse. Nurmi stopped for a moment but then kept on. Judge Stephens said not a thing. IS THIS NOT “REACTING?”

    • JSS is either blind, not paying attention, or…just plain INCOMPETENT. (or she has her hand in someone’s wallet)

    • Yes, it was reacting….it was a demonstration so much so that it interrupted KN and EVERYONE in that courtroom was witness to it…JSS is INCOMPENTENT !!!!! She should have stopped the proceedings and held those that walked out in masse in contempt of court and declared a mistrial…….

    • It is FAR worse than reacting; it was, in my opinion, an unlawful, and contemptuous attempt to taint and prejudice due process, and done at the most crucial point of the mitigation.
      I hope it will cause a mistrial.
      The Alexander family had already been permitted to make their impact statements, in not one trial, but even two.

      I hope the justice system will eventually eliminate impact statements in a court trial.
      In my understanding, impact statements were initially incorporated into trials so that people affected could experience a degree of catharsis.

      Impact statements undermine due process and diminish a defendant’s ability to defend oneself.
      Plus, a defendant has the right to appeal a trial’s decision, so impact statements unfairly contaminate the appeal process also.
      I think that impact statements should have no involvement in the trial process. The statements should be given in an entirely separate arena, where what is said is never allowed to be incorporated into any trial.
      Impact statements should be treated and confined to a therapeutic process/ milieu, and have no possibility of ever influencing a jury or the legal process.

  30. I want to send out a special prayer today for Sandy Arias…. This has to be the hardest thing for her to do as a parent…. She has stood by Jodi during this entire fiasco , and never once talked to the public, outburst in court, social media, but internally absorbed all the emotions of this trial. I can only fathom what her insides must look like through scope.

    Kudos to KN and JW for their stellar work with the most horrendous prosecutor in the United States.

    • Suppose, during analysis, the texts are put together in one file.
      Originally, Jodi had Travis in her phone directory so all texts from Travis show up with both his name and phone number. Then, in order to make the document more coherent, you do a search & replace (Alt-H) to remove the [not completely] redundant phone numbers to leave just his name in the “From:” field. You enter his number in the “Find” box and hit Tab key to move to “Replace” box. Then you click the “Ok” button which replaces all occurrences of the phone number with a blank string (I.e.deletes all Travis’s phone numbers from the document. This usually is no problem. However, if the recipient phone user has removed Travis from their phone directory (e.g. in a lovers fit) somewhere in the stream of texts, some of the texts will only have his phone number but you have just deleted all his phone numbers from the document in order to “clean it up” for court. You now have blank “From” lines for all the texts that were received while Travis was not in Jodi’s phone directory. If you were competent and kept a backup of the original text file, Travis’s phone number will still be in that for the texts with the blank “From” lines. If not, you must download (recover) the text stream from the original phone, assuming it too has not been tampered with and has a faithful, original copy of the text stream.

        • Secondary gain refers to reasons to lie. For example, the reason Dr. G did not interview the CASH couple. Secondary gain is the book they are wring and hoping to make money on. Secondary gain for Jodi’s initial lies was to not be arrested.

      • Secondary gain is a psychiatric (Freudian) term referring to a secondary benefit from a mental illness/injury ( e.g. monetary disability benefits). A primary gain is relief from illness/injury (e.g. via treatment, medication, etc). Both these gains are to compensate for your losses. The primary loss is being rendered “all fucked up” (AFU) – lol. The secondary loss is being rendered unemployed or underemployed due to said AFU state.

        Now on to tertiary (third) losses and gains. The third loss is being accused of malingering, aka “faking it” (said AFU state). The tertiary gain I have yet to see – lol

        Notice why I say illness/injury. Mental illness is often claimed to be a chemical imbalance, yet it is often just the result of or reaction to a personal injury caused by slander, libel, and defamation..People often defend against slander/libel by committing more slander and libel (doubling down on the original offense/crime). This exacerbates the original injury and requires more compensation. People with more money than the plaintiff (e.g. parents or older people with more assumed credibility) often figure they can just run the plaintiff out of money and this is why they do it more often.

      • And here is my thought on the demonstration/protest that happened yesterday when the family and friends who so egregiously got up and walked out of KN’s closing argument…..KN, I have no doubt entered something on the record during the sidebar yesterday that they had regarding that incident and if this comes back DP for Jodi then this egregious violation of Jodi’s rights will become part of the appeals….it will be a very big point on her rights being violated and her inability to get a fair trial……

        • regarding the sentence portion….not even talking about all the Brady violations and prosecutorial misconduct that I believe will result in a vacated criminal trial verdict and either a remand for new trial or dismissal with prejudice………

      • Hoping they will take a quick vote to see how each juror feels and it turns out 9-3 for life. Then, they can just say “why waste time, life it is.”

  152. Even with just tweets it feels like Mr. Nurmi did a great job. I have a feeling the jury will be back by tomorrow at the latest. We shall see…Maybe the tears from family are for themselves and that they may not get their revenge the way they dreamed of it. We shall see. Thank you to everyone involved with this site for being there, tweeting Pandora and Maria, SJ for having this site and keeping it. I kind of think we will need to debrief together as time goes on. Prayers are said and now it is to wait.

    • KN did the best job he could with the funding and damaged , destroyed, tampered with evidence. Just a shame this all couldn’t of come out in the first trial….. But not point in back peddling as it gets us nowhere. Now, to focus on the the appeals, and hoping and praying for awesome lawyer to pick up this case quickly and move forward.

  153. Nurmi’s closing was exceptional. He addressed all mitigation factors and proved beyond doubt that Jodi is a caring loving person and if it wasn’t for travis she’d be a free woman enjoying her life.

    travis was the worst thing that ever happened to Jodi. He abused her both emotionally and physically and killed her self-esteem. Jodi only asked for love. She didn’t sign up for all the abuse and humiliation that travis did to her.

    travis was ruthless, soulless, and a narcissist. He didn’t care about anyone else besides himself. Stomped over women like they were a piece of shit… for how long could Karma turn a blind eye?

    I say it as I see it. For whoever doesn’t like what I say, just think: How would you feel if a travis-type dude used your daughter, granddaughter, sister, girlfriend like he used Jodi? Like he treated Jodi…

      • Well, I for one do not want to hear anything for at least a few days….a quick verdict IMHO will not be good for Jodi…..I hope they take the time to fully go over everything and be fair to Jodi and this takes time and so perhaps next week sometime might be better for Jodi….

      • I think the two choices for JSS is to sentence Jodi to “natural life” which means she dies in prison…or sentence her to “life” which in AZ means that after 25 years she could be paroled….

    • It doesn’t make sense that the judge would be able to do that.
      We’re told to accept what the jury comes to. Why doesn’t she have to do the same.
      IF this was a trial by judge, yes, but a jury of HER peers are supposed to come to that concludion.
      This judge hasn’t been fair in anyway, so I hope that SHE isn’t able to make the verdict.
      That, along with eveything else that has been wrong in the last 2 trials would be the topping of the worst trial in history.

  161. According to Troy Hayden Fox 10 – Jodi goes to Perryville whether she gets life or death. Also according to him if she gets life, she can expect to sit in a cell up to four years while she earns her way out of her single cell to mix with others. That is such a horrible thought. If I am looking for positives out of it, at least she can work on her appeal keeping her occupied.

    • I wonder if a motion can be filed to prevent/ limit her time in solitary. They should use her documented good behavior, and her extenstive time already spent in solitary, to prove it is unnecessary.

      Solitary confinement, except for very short duration due to a crisis situation, is a human rights’ violation.
      No one should have to earn their way to be introduced into and integrated into general population.
      I know inmates can be assessed, but at the very extreme, no more than a month is warranted.

      And solitary confinement increasingly diminshes an inmate’s ability to integrate with the general population, because it takes a tremendous toll on an inmate’s mental health.

  166. R. Love, I want you to know that your guidance for our group to focus on prayer, seems to have made a significant difference.

    Nurmi’s closing surpassed anything I would have imagined. He told the absolute truth throughout,

    WITH A BIG DIFFERENCE:

    Nurmi used only unequivocal facts, and OMITTED any language of blame.

    I think this is a radical turn of events, and I attribute it to our current urging within our membership to focus on prayer. and thinking on a higher plane. Thank you to all.

    Nurmi’s non-blaming language lays the ground for both healing and learning. The “winners” will be folks who recognize this and “pack” this tool it into their tool bag.

    I ran across a documentary:The Mexican-Mormon Wars. Phoenix is snuggled up to the Mexican border. The Romney Clan has a polygamist stronghold in that region, somewhat to the east. Another problem down there is the large number of “drug routes” that run through and across that region. When they talk Murder, a certain “class” of that murder is, yes, Blood Atonemnent. So when we are dealing with Maricopa County, and we get the feeling that we are no longer in America, Think, The Wizard of Oz! “Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.”

    First caution is when we encounter a fresh murder, with obvious “earmarks.” we need to start thinking of Blood Atonement first, not last! I have wondered if Flores’ precious son might symbolically be a message, along the lines of the Stallion’s head in the bed in the “Godfather.” (I consider this a suspicious death.)
