    • I have just installed the new version of Spybot Search & Destroy, (and take mind that there are far more child abuse websites on the internet today in 2015 than back in 2008) and you know what? Not one porn site appeared on my computer…not even one name of a porn site, so he’s talking “Rubbish”.

      In 2007, 08, 09, 2010, I was using Spybot because it was a great website & it kept the baddies out once you immunized them…and I never had a porn site show from having Spybot. Yes it shows list of Malware, Pups, Trojans, Keyloggers, Dialers, Cookies, etc…but it doesn’t list sites.

    • If the sites were detected by Spybot scan, they were on his pc. If they were detected by an independent scanner after Spybot was installed that’s just detecting Spybot’s target list file(s) and is not evidence of porn. The fact that every site was found makes this almost certain. After all, what is the chance the user has been to every site on Spybot’s list?

      If the independentl scanner gets multiple “hits” on any sites, this is evidence of sites on the PC assuming Spybot does not use multiple copies of its sites.

      Unfortunately, there are cache files (e. g. the Windows Swap file) that can contain extra copies of what’s on disk. Scanners also have an “ignore list” which is user editable.

      • The prosecution has the advantage, since most people, especially the judge, do not understand that much about computers.
        This is a dangerous situation now in all cases, as far as justice is concerned.

    • Porn site names are not connected to pop ups…pop ups arrive from clicking on in iffy sites in the first place.

  46. Some people will say “so what!” about the porn. Yes, I agree to that: to each their own. What I don’t agree with is a person – a fraud – claiming that he is purer than water, holier than tho and he was lying to his church, going against his religion’s rules, lying to everyone… That is not right! If someone will lie in the face of their god, they will lie about everything!

    As for the State? They tried to paint Jodi as a liar when she had said that travis had an addiction to porn and CHILD PORN… Jodi didn’t lie! State tried to hide that fact!

    • It is so hypocritical that they would love to put Jodi to death for lying when it seems that lying is all Travis ever did….

      It is worth noting that porn addiction often causes the addict to look for more extreme images to sate their addiction…Example: child porn. I have heard this excuse used many times here in my state when people are caught with it.

    That is not true. I wrote posts responding to you three or four times, and I saw other responses to you from other people.
    You must be missing them, and not finding where they are.
    I wish I could respond to you more. I find your posts valuable and informative.
    If I don’ t tespond, it is because I have nothing worthwhile to add. Also, I am not as ‘ fluent’ as others here when it comes to talking about all the particulars of the evidence.
    So many people’s responses here go unresponded to, but that never means people don’ t care about them.
    Sometimes I don’ t have energy or time to respond, or I put off responding because I want to write a quality response, but then too much time goes by, so I don’ t respond to posts.

    I know there is a sense of not being heard when people don’ t respond, but that does not mean they are not responding internally, and silently, and being affected and informed in a positive way __ they are appreciating the posts.

    • I think you are 100% correct Amy. We are all here to support Jodi, not for a popularity contest. I often cannot read the posts in realtime so I don’t add responses as we are on to a new page.

    • By his own admission he used a newer version of Norton than TA did, but used the same Spybot version. Does it not stand to reason that the newer version of Norton would wipe out more of the porn sites than the old one? Am I misunderstanding this?

        You are exactly right. A person could watch porn all day and while there might be a history on your hard drive of sites you visited, there WOULD NOT BE any images, pictures or movies that you could see or play unless you saved them.

  102. This is my post and a response. I will re their response post and ask directly about pop-ups. In the meantime here is my post and their response:

    Did or does Spybot place pornsites names on the computer to immunize it from those pornsites?
    A police detective in Arizona claims spybot places the names of pornsites on computers to immunize it from sites.
    I might be able to understand a database of blacklist sites blocking, but the Arizona detective is saying that spybot is putting those sites on a computer to immunize it. It’s kinda slanderous to say you’ll get porn popups using spybot, right?

    Their response:

    Apprantly a misunderstanding about how “Immunization” works.

    “Immunization pro-actively prevents malware from attacking your system by blocking access to sites known to contain malicious or unwanted software, blocking cookies that have just tracking purposes, and blocking browser plugins that are malware or similar.”

      I’m grateful for your response. I understand how blacklists work. What was important to me is that as a user of Spybot (Thanks) I am bothered by an Arizona police detective, saying in court, on the record, today, that Spybot caused porn popups, as a product of trying to stop malware etc. It’s on the record and I thought Safer-Networking might not appreciate the slander and MIGHT want to set Arizona Police Forensics straight!       • Yes CC, good jury question. …I know nothing about Spybot & near nothing about cookies & registries. But, since Brown said “no” to that jury question, that means that if there are any “search & destroy” or histories added to cookie registries, …then it had to have been done by a person manually typing it on keyboard, or mouse clicking it, with full knowledge of their actions. …Certainly not Jodi. ..IMHO.
