Still nada nada nada at #jodiarias waiting for verdict. #fox10phoenix

    • Ohhhhh it’s 11.50pm here I was sleepy but I’m saying big prayers to the man upstairs please reach the right verdict!!!!! I hope Jodi is breathing and composed and staying strong!!!!!!

If decision is reached late in day… Then everybody would stay late. Court will still wait one hour to read verdict.#jodiarias @jbarrycbs5

    • I’m not a patient person but on the other hand, I am glad that people on that jury saw the bullshit martinez was trying to shovel down their throat and didn’t ‘buy it’. Seems that there are people that don’t like his kool-aid after all. 😉

  3. See I knew that was gonna happen, lol!

We weren’t doing anything but waiting so I typed the recipe to my wonderful chicken soup I’ve been eating all winter. I knew as soon as I hit send that there’d be a new page up and no one would be reading the other page, lol!

    • Everyone needs this recipe!!
Went back to last page, copied and pasted for my recipe file.
      Sounds wonderful…

      • Oh Journee, that sounds real good. I will try it. . .Chicken Soup for the Soul! 🙂

    • One little ‘shortcut’ of sorts that I use – if you have an appropriately sized pasta pot or any pot that has it’s own drop in strainer section (or even one of those as seen on TV strainer thingamajigs that you can drop into a pot) put your bones in that – and heck, add that strained off rosemary and garlic too – to make the broth.

  4. Just watched Chris Hughes being interviewed by Jeff Gold. I was surprised to hear him say that he feels the gun shot came first in Travis’ death. He then went on to say how much he respected Flores et al but that is just his thought.

Still waiting for #JodiArias verdict. Do you think there will be a decision today? We’re on day 3 of deliberations. #TravisAlexander #abc15

  7. CBS 5 News ‏@CBS5AZ 2m2 minutes ago Phoenix, AZ

Jurors have a lot to think about. 5 months worth of testimony. Not easy to decide whether someone should be put to death.#jodiarias

  8. I have been thinking about all the jurors in history who have sentenced a defendant with the DP who, after the sentence was carried out, found out for certain that the defendant was actually not guilty. I wonder how they cope with that…

  9. Unfortunarely, Justus, I think the hold outs are for life…like last time…most likely being pressured by the grim reapers.

  10. Jen’s Trial Diaries ‏@TrialDiariesJ 1m1 minute ago

Jurors have so much to go through…they have all exhibits from the first trial #jodiarias #3tvarias

  11. Given that Arizona is still the wild wild west and hang em dry state, it will be a couple of jurors who are holding on to life at this time.

  12. Just Remember People,
Whatever the verdict, there will be an appeal. One one side of the coin, the best thing that can happen is a DP Verdict. (BEFORE YOU JUMP LET ME EXPLAIN WHY). This whole case was bulit on accusations and false testimony by the Prosecution and verdicts were rendered in THE MOST CORRUPT COURTROOM IN THE MOST JUDICIALLY CORRUPT STATE IN THE COUNTRY.
A DP verdict will take this case out of the jurisdiction of Arizona and into the hands of the Federal Courts. If that should happen, the truth will be exposed and the Federal Courts will END the careers of JSS, Juanita and Defective Detective Flores.
    In short Jodi Wins.
If Jodi gets a Life Sentence, or LWOP, The appellate Court will over turn it and give her 25 with parole in effort to cover up the horrendous judicial farce that this case is.
    In Short, Jodi Wins.

Either way this Verdict goes, Jodi Wins

The FLEETING MOMENT should they have one is for the Alexander Family should they get what they want which is a DP verdict. But it will be a FLEETING MOMENT.

That family is nothing more than pan-handling street trash begging for attention and financial gain.
If I had the technical expertise, I would make a poster of those people with a cardboard sign that reads “WILL GRIEVE FOR MONEY GOD BLE$$” and put the poster on the Freeway On Ramp.

  13. Michael Kiefer ‏@michaelbkiefer 48s48 seconds ago

Judge Sherry Stephens just told me there will be no verdict read today even if they were to come back with one. (They haven’t) Too late.

    • WTF is all that about??? It’s “too late” to read a verdict (let’s suppose they do reach it today)?!?!

ONLY in Arizona! I am so pissed right now.

    • JSS says there will be no verdict read today EVEN IF THE JURY WERE TO COME BACK WITH ONE?
      ????????
WHY? Does JSS have something more important to do this evening?
      Priorities really matter, huh?

Talk about lack of morality and MEDICOCRITY: Holding to a convenient, comfortable schedule is more important than letting the affected parties know the answer, EVEN IF there is an answer before ‘closing time.’

I was going to write, “This is insanity,” but no, repeating, “This is mediocrity personified,” ad infinitum, is the best way I can characterize such profound lack of respect shown to all involved.

If it is JSS’s decision that even if a decision is arrived at today, it will not be read, then that just proves JSS is a pathetic joke.
JSS’s attitude shows absolute disregard for both the Alexander family and the Arias family.

      Disgusting.

If jury comes back with verdict today it won’t be read till tomorrow per court #jodiarias #3tvarias

  15. CBS 5 News ‏@CBS5AZ 47s48 seconds ago Phoenix, AZ

Doesn’t look like we will have verdict today. Hearing that even if jury reaches verdict – it won’t be read until tomorrow.#jodiarias@

    • Yeah, but do we need to hang out to THE END to find out if the verdict might be read FIRST THING tomorrow?

  16. Jen’s Trial Diaries ‏@TrialDiariesJ 16s16 seconds ago

The Alexander family is up here sitting across the hall…friends too #jodiarias #3tvarias

    • UNBELIEVABLE. They are there again emotionally bullying the jurors. Don’t they have respect for themselves, for crying out loud? I find this very disturbing. I pity them. Lost causes.

      • ON the bright side –

if their stunt was working there’d have been a verdict today.

      • Jury tampering!

I depsise them, I truly do. I never thought I would hate someone I have never even met.

        • It’s just wrong!!!
They shouldn’t be there until the verdict is read.
They would have plenty of time to get there, believe me!

IF I truly cared for my brother I would have more respect then they have
had. You can tell, they are so phony!

  17. Monica Lindstrom ‏@monicalindstrom 2m2 minutes ago

Impactful- #TravisAlexander ‘s family sitting at the end of the hallway outside the courtroom for the jurors to see as they leave #jodiArias

    • Yah, somebody drop something impactful on them.

Anything. Eggs, tomatoes, bird crap – doesn’t have to be something heavy, just something that makes an IMPACT that suits their style.

    • “impactful” ??? Monica Lindstrom finds this “impactful” ?!?!?!?!
They are trying to influence those jurors FFS!!! What is wrong with that State/courtroom? Why is is that the Alexander family seems immune to any laws applying to all other people? I am speechless.

    • “Impactful,”: PRECISELY why it is wrong.

Does the defense team have any right to put a stop to that?

      Jury deliberations should be sequestered.

      Do other courts permit this?

Jurors do not have stuff with them so they are not done. Alexander family is in full force here on the 5th floor. #JodiArias

      • I would feel threatened by the Alexander family if I were a juror…they are like stalkers! Or like the evil eye that an abused woman may get from her abuser just as the police take him away…ya know? The look that says “If you don’t do what I told you to do you’ll PAY for this later”

      • Why the heck doesn’t Jodi’s defence atty DO SOMETHING?
I am still convinced that the State has bought and paid for this pathetic duo.
I cannot forgive Nurmi for breaking AZ law by disrespecting his client.
By refusing to accept her calls. By instructing his secretary to hang up on Jodi and take no messages.

By denying Jodi any contact with her defence for as long as four months up to FOURTEEN months running?

By not running any interference for Jodi when the State defies the US Constitution by denying Jodi access to a computer so that she can research and participate in her own defence.

This man should have his license suspended for at least a few years, and required to do pro bono public defence work that is supervised and rated to insure his establishment of an honest rigor and thoroughness of research, along with establishing a high standard of protocol for such work in order to earn the reinstatememt of his law license.

I Read the Arizona State Legislature Statutes that somebody posted on this site overnight.

I challenge anybody to peruse those statutes and tell me you honestly believe that Kurt Nurmi has ever bothered to read them SCRUPULOUSLY.

There is a specific statute that covers justification of self-defence in the instance of domestic violence.
        (AZ 3-404)

Why has no “genius” brought up TA’S longstanding training in martial arts in relation to that FACT that this places HIS HANDS In the category of LETHAL WEAPONS.

  20. No Pandora they don’t think in terms of respect for themselves, they think in terms of the life they have led in the past, the jungle where they fought for everything.. they are still doing it. That is why it was so easy for them to leave the court room en mass like they did. They come from a different place. The law of the jungle.

    • Are they allowed trolling the court hallway? And lets just say that the alexanders have the right to be there, what about their followers/posse? What anarchy!

        • That’s exactly what I do not get. Why have they gotten away with so much inappropriate behavior? Why such leniency by the Judge? What is it so special about this family that seems to be above law, heck…even above reprimanding!

          • No, all she does is shoot daggers to the defense side
            and Jodi.
How she became a judge amazes me.
Even the ones that are supposed to keep order in the court?
Just the most out of control bunch I’ve ever seen on a coutroom.

  34. Sorry, I had to paste this because it’s such a comic relief right now. I am LOLing with this supporter’s reply to Troy:

  35. Quoting from the Mississippi Victim’s Handbook: “You cannot attempt to influence the jury in any way. Reacting in any way could be considered grounds for a mistrial. Jury members may feel sympathy for victims, and an outward display of emotion could affect their ability to remain fair and impartial.” Have we or have we not seen “outward displays of emotion” during this whole trial? If this is the law in Mississippi, shouldn’t it be the law everywhere?

      • In Texas, the worst DP state, but if you even look a the jury
or say one word, it’s over.
Someone I know was suing someone, she said HI to a juror and it was over.
You aren’t supposed to show any emotion.surprised that they are allowed to be at the courthouse at all, until they’ve heard a verdict is reached.
If they know a verdict is reached and won’t hear until tomorrwow, I’m sure they’ll stay there all night.

    • Jeff, umm don’t know how to tell you this but they gave AZ back to Mexico…..

I’m sorry it’s really sad that such a great place to live I’m sure is getting such bad press…

    • I suggested to Michael Kiefer that “some reporter” should take some photos of the Alexander family watching the jurors exit but I didn’t think any would.

    • Eh – I don’t think we want Mississippi laws to be the laws everywhere, either.

They’re just a different brand of crappy than Arizona.

      • Journee,
        so is Texas, ugh!
but I don’t know of any case that would allow that here.

          • No Cindy, didn’t know that.
I’ve always heard this was the murder capital of the world.
You mean, you are really no 1.
            What a relief!!! : )
Be glad when the dp is history!

            • Aly, I had been saying that all day. But it is true. We abolished the death penalty in 1846. I guess your talking about the east side of the state….yup Detroit……

    • Doubt it. She’s permanently scarred by TA. She is in love with a ghost who used to be a very very bad man here on Earth. Definitely suffering battered women’s syndrome. Or some other phychological trauma – she was emotionally and psychologically abused by TA after all.

      • What part of I don’t want to marry you didn’t she understand!!! He was still useing her for
        sex along with how many???

I wonder how her family feels about having shame come to there name…..

        • Family, shame, exactly. That put daddy on my “list” Along with Chris, Sky, and Hiaat.’nough said.

      • Someone posted a ghost like image of TA in the courtroom…very unnerving what was noted ‘him stating’ what he wanted…
When I went back to look at it again it was gone…maybe because I stopped following that twit.
This is all about Jury Intimidation…which seems allowable in Arizona courts.

Back tomorrow at 9ish So far 16 hours deliberating #jodiarias #3tvarias

  39. Okay so back for another day tomorrow…..no telling what is happening but my feeling is they are deadlocked…….

  40. The family/friends demonstrating there in the hallway for the jurors as they leave must have an impact on at least some of these jurors….if nothing else, it is a tremendous amount of pressure on them to give Jodi the DP….hopefully KN and JW are taking note of all this……

    • BB, you have legal knowledge __ do courts usually allow this sort of behavior?
I think it should be considered illegal.

      • I am not sure about this one…it seems borderline to me….I know that inside the courtroom you can not demonstrate in front of the jury…..of course, we have seen this countless times by the Alexanders with JSS doing NOTHING !!! So the best thing that the DT can do is make a record of the demonstrations inside the courtroom in front of the jury and take note of this vigil outside the courtroom….if there are any words said to the jury in the hallway, this of course would be a violation….

        • And frankly I have never seen a victim’s family do this coordinated sort of vigil in a hallway strategically placed so that they are sure to be seen by the jury…we all know that they are doing this to try to influence the jury…but again I am not sure about this one…….

        • It could definitely be prevented, too –

first trial, same courtroom, jurors coming and going were absolutely shielded from press and public as they came and went – they left via some different path that took them down to a shuttle bus to the parking lot.

        • I’m sure, There is another exit in that courthouse also. This is just all part of the circus atmosphere JSS was orchestrated. You know everyone there will be writing a book. 🙄 The jury should not have to face all these vultures every time they come out for air. Honestly, all of them are vultures. . .sick.

    • Is it really appropriate for Jodi’s so-called “Defence team” to just sit back in the background, at a time when every decision and its timing is CTITICAL? It feels like they don’t even work for her any more?

  41. Conventional wisdom is that the longer the jury deliberates, the better it is for the defense, but is that true? Let’s take a look at some recent high profile trials:

Eddie Ray Routh trial (2015)-2 hours of deliberation: guilty
George Zimmerman trial (2013)-16 1/2 hours of deliberation: not guilty
Casey Anthony trial (2011)-less than 11 hours of deliberation: not guilty
Conrad Murray trial (2011)-8 hours of deliberation: guilty
Steven Hayes trial (2010)-4 hours of deliberation: guilty
Scott Peterson trial (2007)-7 days of deliberation: guilty
Robert Blake trial (2005)-9 days of deliberation: not guilty
OJ Simpson trial (1994)-less than 4 hours of deliberation: not guilty

The Scott Peterson verdict for the death penalty came as a surprise to some due to the length of time and that there was mostly circumstantial evidence against him. However, the prosecution made a great case with strong testimony and Peterson did himself no favors. As for the Simpson verdict, that was more to do with getting back at the LAPD for Rodney King than anything else.

Then there are some lower-profile verdicts that obviously weren’t “sexy” enough for the news media involving women who killed their boyfriends. Here are those results:

(2015) Amanda Sorensen, Apple, Valley, CA-convicted, life in prison
(2015) Katrina Ben, Rockville, MD-convicted, life in prison
(2014) Maryann Castorena, Grand Haven, MI-convicted, life in prison
(2014) Ana Trujillo, Houston, TX-convicted, life in prison
(2014) Camia Gamet, Jackson, MI, convicted, life in prison (although the judge in this case admonished her for her courtroom antics, telling her “If this was a death penalty state, you’d be getting the chair.”)
(2004) Tameka Taylor, Muskogee, OK-convicted, life in prison

The list goes on and on, but the bottom line is that fewer death penalty convictions are happening today especially to women. Actual execution of female offenders is quite rare, with only 571 documented instances as of 12/31/12, beginning with the first in 1632. In total, these executions constitute about 2.9% of the total of confirmed executions in the US since 1608. There have been a total of 15 female offenders that have been executed since 1976. Women are also more likely to drop out of the death penalty system the further it progresses:

    *women account for about 1 in 10 (10%) murder arrests;
    *women account for only 1 in 50 (2.1%) death sentences imposed at the trial level;
    *women account for only 1 in 67 (1.8%) persons presently on death row;
*women account for only 1 in 100 (.9%) persons actually executed in the modern era.

(Source: “Death Penalty For Female Offenders, January 1973-December 31, 2013” by Victor L. Streib, Professor of Law at Ohio University College of Law)

      • Wonder what they would do in AZ to a prosecutor or detective that does such a thing?

  44. My personal thought is the jury has not made a decision yet. I’m guessing that they have said let’s go home and sleep on this before we speak to the judge. Not sure though. . .I think tomorrow will be a crazy day. I hope that the DT is checking into the drama that has been continuing to be allowed daily at the courthouse. Nothing about the first trial was fair and nothing in this trial has been fair so do we expect anything more than injustice. Prayers as always for Our Dearest Sweet Jodi! (((((((JODI)))))))

    • BB,

This is my fear for jodi. I read the AZ Legislature Statutes that were posted on this site overnight. (Don’t see them now though.)

Knowledge of their contents only confirms my long-standing suspicions that Jodi’s so-called “defence team” was early on bought and paid for to “work for” the State, sureptitiously.

For instance, AZ13-404 is about justification for self defence in domestic violence.
      .
It strikes me that there is much in those statutes that might apply to Jodi’s defence.

(But I find no evidence that these sort of potential relief are explored by the so-called defence.)

Martinez loves to accuse Jodi of lying for “secondary gain.”

Well, THE STATE HAS FAR, FAR MORE SECONDARY GAIN AT STAKE !

Prisons are extremely PROFITABLE! To the point where they have washington lobbies, pay-offs and possibly unions. It has becomwe a racket, and as such is up yo no good.
THINK MOTIVE _ SECONDARY GAIN !

  45. Kelly Gisseneder from Georgia is supposed to be executed tonight. She was supposed to be executed last Friday but it was postponed due to bad weather. It is on again apparently. A bid for clemency has failed.

    • Postponing an execution. My god. That is cruel and unusual punishment. Just imagine the anguish. For her and her children. The guy who actually, physically killed her husband may go free, while she waits to find out if she’s going to die.

      America is a crazy place.

      • It just doesn’t seem right. The eye for the eye concept. The woman has graduated from theology in prison and counsels others. Her three children (near adult or are adult) have a good relationship with her and she counsels them. Thousands of signatures and petitions have been presented but Georgia won’t move. Killing her will not bring back her ex husband but will leave her children with no parent. I just don’t see how this benefits anyone but the “eye for an eye concept” – revenge. It probably scared all those Georgian husbands in government that if they let her live, their wives might try and pull similar stunts. Crazy!

Assoc Press: #KellyGissendaner execution delayed pending a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court on her lawyers’ request for a stay-stay with us.

    • Can u imagine what it is like for that woman to be told she is dying in two days, then two hours, then she is not dying tonight. That is cruel beyond punishment.

#KellyGissendaner has prepared for death & come within hours of it twice in less than a week. This is torture, plain & simple.#kellyonmymind

        • Executions are always a grave evil, but it’s even worse when a plea deal is used against the convict. People have a strong motivation to turn on someone else if it will in turn save their own life.

  46. Troy Hayden has posted Twitter photos of Jodi’s Perryville prison cell, a view from her window and her exercise area. I don’t know how to post photos off Twitter when they are in the form they are in. Can anyone help and bring them here? Jodi’s view is not great but she’ll be able to see the sky and it looks out over the exercise area. Hayden said she gets 6 hours a week in the exercise area and can earn more time.

  47. Cold case, I wouldn’t exactly call it a view……but she can see some cages and some sky.

    • True, Judy, it’s not much but better than a brick wall. She’ll be able to watch others exercise, see the sky and the sun (maybe), watch the rain on the pavement… and who knows, maybe they’ll tear the execise area down and build something better and also improve Jodi’s “view.” Hopefully, she won’t be there for more than a few years.

  48. Morning my ((((Jodi)))) family. Hopefully everyone had a good night sleep. As much as we were stressing over why the jury was doing yesterday, I was thinking of Jodi in that room/cell at the courthouse. I could see her busy with her artwork. That made me smile.

As for the “family” you can tell by their actions that they are worried and starting to fall apart. Someone Please send in the psychologist……

So another day starts. Praying for Jodi, her family and the jury….
