1 minute 38 seconds

Ok… so going on the much trumpeted camera times as reported by LE… from the shooting, the 27 stab wounds, the “struggle”, and the cutting of the throat from ear to ear… plus the dragging of the body into the hallway… it took exactly 1 minute 38 seconds from start to finish.

Here’s how it pans out:

6/4/2008 from 1.40pm onwards – “bedroom pics” taken.

Deleted pictures:

1st pic 6-4-08 @ 17.22.24
Last pic (TA alive) 17.30.38 (a)

17.31.14 – bathroom ceiling pic taken.

17.32.16 – TA deceased in next photo (b)

Time elapsed from 17.30.38 (a) to 17.32.16 (b) – 1 minute 38 seconds.

How does all this happen in 1 minute 38 seconds?

    • SJ When you say ‘how could all this happen in 1:38’, are you saying ‘wow, this is a lot in a minute and a half, but I still believe it happened in that time frame’, or are you saying, there’s no way, or someone must have messed with the clock on the camera, or she must have had help, etc. etc.?

On the question of searching ‘her’ car, I assume you mean the rental? The floor mats had been removed and the car cleaned, or at least the ‘kook aid’ stain. But, is it true the cops never search or tested the rental vehicle for fibers, blood, etc? I suppose if she had blood on her clothes and changed them, her only concern would have been her shoes, and thus the removal of the floor mats. But it sure seems odd.

I’d also appreciate someone clearing up the bathroom/bedroom logistics … I suppose there’s a diagram somewhere. But even the 911 call said they found him in the bedroom, not the bathroom. I thought he was found in the shower, and thus in the bathroom. All very confusing.

      • The bathroom was adjoined to the bedroom by a hallway – it was all part of a master suite. When whoever made the 911 call said “bedroom,” I think they were just referring to the entire area. Travis’s bedroom/bathroom were self-contained within the house; one needed to enter Travis’s bedroom in order to access the bathroom.

He was found in the shower.

        • Kira, thanks. I’m still searching for the diagram/layout of his home so I can help myself 🙁

Anyhow, does anyone find it significant (one way or another: premeditation vs self defense) for Alexander to have ‘lunged’ at Jodi, an ensuing struggle, and then ending up (dragged?) back in the shower.

Does that strike anyone or contribute in any way to ‘staging’ ‘altering’ a crime scene?

To me, that strikes me badly.

Also, Kira, or anyone for that matter, how can one find all one’s own comments or whether someone has responded … is there one central location? I see on the side of these pages, identifiers for that page, but what about all areas of this complex blog? Any help is appreciated.

    • GCG,

Good call and one I’ve thought of too. Remember the correspondence they say Jody wrote to Travis GF? It read,

“If you let him stay in your bed one more time or even sleep under the same roof as him, you will be giving the appearance of evil,” the email read. “You are a daughter of God, and you have been a shameful example. Be thou clean, sin no more.” It was never proven that Jody sent this email though.

IMO, this doesn’t sounds like writing of a jealous ex gf but rather that of a jealous BF or ex BF of one of Travis current GF’s. Travis dated many women while hiding his relationship with Jody. He led a double life; one that his friends weren’t aware. So, the theory that someone else was involved makes sense. Maybe Jody is asserting self defense because she did fight someone off and for some reason, hasn’t named that person. Or maybe she has and the media hasn’t discussed the defense theory. I notice the defense is very tight-lipped about this case.

Also, based on what I’ve read, Jody was the only person investigated based on the finger pointing and hearsay of his friends.

Also, say she did stab him etc. There would be a fair amount of blood on Jody when she left. Why didn’t they examine her car? Sometimes, it’s more about what they don’t test for evidence than what they do test IMO.

  1. Here is an article I read about another case where a woman who many think are innocent is sitting on death row. The prosecutor called the defendant a psychopath and the article calls into question whether the prosecutor committed an ethical violation by that assertion because he had zero forensics to back up the label.

“Legal ethics expert Ellen Yaroshefsky said that Davis referring to Routier as a psychopath with no factual basis to back it up is “outrageous.” Yaroshefsky is a professor at the Cardozo Law School in New York, and director of the Jacob Burns Center for Ethics in the Practice of Law. She has assisted the Innocence Project, of which her Cardozo colleague, Barry Scheck, is co-director. Particularly, a public servant who is a minister of justice should not be characterizing defendants in this manner. It is unethical to do so,” Yaroshefsky said.”

We know Casey Anthony was dubbed a psychopath/sociopath by JA too.

I think it should be an ethical violation when a prosecutor does this. First of all, psychopath is a diagnosis so someone in power asserting that any defendant is a {INSERT psychiatric diagnosis here} demonstrates a bias intended to sway public opinion and potentially taint a jury pool.

This labeling prior to trial has to stop IMHO.

    • Very good question. Especially considering when someone is dead, literally dead weight. It’s hard enough moving someone heavy when they are rigid. Ever try and pick up a two year old who doesn’t want to be picked up. They go limp, and it’s very hard.

Even if the fight ended up right next to the shower, moving him only 2 feet would seem impossible. Where in the house are the drag marks located. All the way down the hall? Or just within a foot of the shower?

  2. Has everyone seen this ridiculous re-enactment of Jodi killing and dragging Travis from room to room all the while snapping photos? It makes NO sense that she dragged him into the bedroom. I’m going to guess that he ran that way himself. There is no way she dragged him around like that. It’s more likely he was moving around so she continued to stab him.

    • I just watched the video and that was the stupidest thing I ever saw. I will not even watch Nancy she she turns my stomach the way she attacks people and judges them. Look what she did to poor Casey night after night Tot Mom Tot Mom. Nancy is reason so many hate Casey and she is trying to do it poor Jodi now.

    • Is that the HLN re-enactment where he gets dragged through the house, down the stairs, over the pool table, out the back door, around the house 3 times, back into the house, in & out of the washing machine, through the kitchen, back up the stairs and into the shower? That’s probably the one for next week. But similar to Jon, I never watch HLN, nor will I include any of their BS footage in this site.
      Thanks for posting!
      SJ

      • No, no, no… You need to get your facts straight. He wasn’t dragged throughout the house, down the stairs, across the pool table, etc… She carried him… On her little pinky! (;

  3. Does anybody know how much Travis weighed? And how much Jodi weighed at the time of the “killing”.

    • Travis weighed 189 when the ME examined him. Factoring in weight loss from decomp/loss of blood, he would’ve weighed at least a few pounds more in life. I’m not sure about Jodi’s weight but I wouldn’t put her at more than 120. She is tiny.

  4. Couldn’t the camera’s timer have been turned on by accident during a struggle? That could account for the ceiling picture and the deceased picture of Travis.

    • I never thought of this at all, very interesting. Though I think there were multiple pictures taken from a ‘dropped’ position. Unless I don’t know new tech cameras, I thought a timer took only one picture, and then had to be reset. So I can’t see it accidentally being set 2 or 3 times. Hell, I can’t seem to set my own sitting in a quiet room.

  5. I don’t think she did all this by herself, it appears she had help. In this picture of him dead with someone standing behind him, I wonder what the white area in the photograph is. It also looks like his right arm is not laying down, maybe the person had hold of his arm or maybe he was not dead yet. Makes me wonder. Also the position his body was found in the shower, it seems unlikely that Jodi was able to do that.

  6. Just started following this trial last week. It seemed preposterous to me that she could possibly have done all this in such a short time, alone, unless she is a ninja herself! Also, her friend that visits her in jail stated that the “2nd story” was true…the “ninja” story, as well as said on air that she said she would only get manslaughter, and 5 years probation. I initially thought “with this kind of friend she doesn’t need any enemies”…but then I looked up what he also stated about Mormons and “blood atonement”, not expecting to find anything at all. I was shocked to see that it was real…but even more shocked to see that the way the “avenging angels”, or Danites killed dissenters of the church, or murderers…or even adulterers…was by the “spilling of blood” on the ground. They had to be clean, (showered afterwards?), and the neck was usually sliced open from “ear to ear”, or decapitated! They also had a deep wound to the right breast, and abdomen, with evisceration. Travis had the throat slashed/near decapitation, and the stab wound to the heart…then placed in shower and rinsed off! This was to “kill their flesh”, but ensure them becoming “Gods” in the afterlife! This actually occurred in the 1858 Mormon church, and beyond. Some say still occurs in secret for the church…especially for someone in the upper hierarchy of the church…like Travis(Priest?) Could he have been targeted for his secret sins with Jodi? Did she confess it to the bishop, and then give them the evidence from the tapes? The pictures of these secret assassins were dressed eerily like the “ninjas” she described initially. There are threats made if the temple secret rituals are divulged, on pain of death! Don’t know if this is what is going on, but seems mighty strange…
